Marguerite Endres

Only after five years at Cal Poly Pomona, Marguerite Endres has made her mark helping students embrace the “Learn by Doing” philosophy.    From her beginnings at the University as the Graduate Business Coordinator and now as the CBA’s Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Internships, Marguerite has been invested in helping students achieve their future goals, both academically and professionally.  Her eclectic blend of experiences such as serving in the US army in Germany, working in private industry, earning her MBA, and being a trained Dianetics Auditor has given her the background to guide students in building their networks and resumes.

As a creator of the CBA’s The Intern® web series, Marguerite was able to fashion Cal Poly’s own version of The Apprentice where ten selected students competed for a paid internship.  Now in Season II, The Intern® has upped the ante with all new challenges (i.e. during the most recent challenge, the interns raised money for City of Hope!), cash prizes, and career building internships.  From producing, filming, fundraising, and requesting the involvement of local business, she is credited to the success of this program and is enthusiastic in her approach to aiding students in finding the experience necessary in today’s competitive business environment.

In addition to The Intern®, Marguerite has provided the students of the CBA many opportunities to meet with alumni and local business partners—highlighting the importance of creating a strong network base.  Whether it is the Executive Speaker Series, Alumni Evening at the Ball Park, or the various Wine Mixer events, students are allotted many venues to exchange ideas and to be inspired.

The CBA would like to honor Marguerite Endres’ continued passion to help students succeed and her hard work with the Winter 2012 Staff of the Quarter award.  Congratulations!
