Our business professors have been sought after throughout the world from leaders in academia and the business community for their expertise. Below is a list of some professional activities.
N. Gregory Young, professor in the Finance, Real Estate and Law Department, has been named a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The Washington, D.C.-based nonpartisan center promotes research that advances policy in national and world affairs and Young will serve as a scholar for three months in 2010. The 2008-09 scholars represent some of the brightest minds in academia including those from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as prominent government workers throughout the world. Young’s research will focus on international law and will culminate in a monograph, possibly published by the Woodrow Wilson Center Press or one of its affiliates. Young may also present his research in front of a Congressional committee. This is not the first time Young has been selected to participate in a prestigious program. Previously, he was named a Fulbright Scholar and was a visiting fellow at University of Cambridge’s Lauterpacht Centre for International Law.
Majed Muhtaseb, professor in the Finance, Real Estate, and Law Department presented a paper in March at the Midwest Finance Association’s annual meeting in Chicago. Muhtaseb, an expert on hedge funds including a term as research director for a London-based international fund research and consulting firm, presented “The Common Factor Among Major Hedge Fund Fraud Cases.”
Jae Min Jung of the International Business and Marketing Department has been named a Lyle Center Faculty Fellow for 2008-09. Jung will devote his research on whether it is an effective branding and marketing strategy for businesses to identify the state of origin of agricultural products.
