Need

You will also be asked to enhance and or develop web sites for use in the intra-company web.

Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Computer Science (CS) is required

Be a part-time Student Intern and Engineering/Programming Assistant to the supercomputing cluster support engineers and consultants in the operations team of the JPL Supercomputing and Visualization Facility (SVF). Responsible for assisting and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a state-of-the-art, multi-user/multi-tasking high performance computing and visualization environment. Will assist in performing daily and strategic operations and maintenance duties for the SVF's Linux (Altix Itanium and Dell Xeon) supercomputing clusters, the HP Lustre file system, and the Powerwall visualization facility, including security, backups, scheduling, accounting, utilization reporting, failure analysis, and responding to user needs. Will make suggestions to provide better utilization of the SVF and its resources. Under the guidance of senior team members, will provide user support to the engineering and scientific community, and work with vendors and other staff to resolve user and system problems in a proactive and timely fashion.
