The Center for Information Assurance combines the CBA emphasis on strategic use of information technology, the CIS learn-by-doing approach to using computers, and the MSBA emphasis on information systems audit to further the study of Information Assurance, Audit, Security, and Forensics.

Mission Goals and Objectives include the following.

• 1. To advance research and knowledge in computer forensics
• 2. To foster relationships with professional associations and law enforcement agencies in the area of information assurance, audit, security and computer forensics.
• 3. To promote teaching of secure coding practices.
• 4. To work with professional associations to promote security awareness.
• 5. To provide a resource for industry and community groups dealing with information security.
